At Good haven International School, our infant care programme focuses on the use of Experiential Learning as the main approach for infants and toddlers, enabling them to develop and learn through their own reflections and experiences. Children are encouraged to be expressive mini-explorers as they navigate their way through our beautifully-crafted learning spaces, discover how to play with classic toys, musical instruments, and textural materials.
Our Experiential Learning framework comprises the following 5 Learning Domains to ensure your child has fun learning in a safe and nurturing environment:
Self-Exploration:
- Children are natural little explorers, they are always curious and fascinated by the world around them
Music & Stories:
- Infants and toddlers love rhythms and music. Whenever they hear a catchy tune during Music Stimulation time, their faces light up and their little bodies would move to the beat.
Various studies show that music has a positive impact on children’s creativity, spatial intelligence, emotional growth, and cognitive development.
Muscle Development
- Since music helps to spark connections in the brain, we will always provide different categories of music for our infants to create a variety of atmospheres and moods in the environment to stimulate your child’s growth and foster their creative minds from an early age.
At we will help your child quickly build language foundations early to saying their first word.
Thematic Discovery:
- At Good Haven International School, children will always get to discover the world around them through themes in our Colourful environment where the toddlers enjoy different activities.
These activities allow children to engage in language and social interactions. We believe each child can embark on an individual learning when given well-designed learning environments.
Sensory Experience:
- Children explore the world through their five senses – touch, smell, taste, sight, and hearing. They are guided to explore their surroundings through various activities, objects, and thematic experiences as they discover and comprehend the world around them by use of all their senses.
Nursery:
Our Nursery section is composed of three levels:
Nursery One / Baby class (age 3-4).
Nursery Two/ Middle class (age 4-5).
Nursery Three/ Top class (age 5-6).
At all the three levels, French and English is the main medium of communication.
We have found it true and possible as proven by different researchers that children from age 1 to 7 may learn and capture 2 to 4 languages at ago.
According to Dr Patricia Kuhl, what’s going on in a baby’s brain is nothing short of rocket science: ‘By three, a little child’s brain is actually twice as active as an adult brain.’
By exposing children to other languages at an early age, you are giving them the opportunity to tap into their natural ability to hear and distinguish the sounds of other languages, and their capacity to make sense of what they are hearing
